In Spring 2016 The News Brothers performed songs with our friend Taylor Hicks for a Children's of Alabama benefit at Regions Tradition. We were later joined by Jon Daly. Such a memorable experience!

On January 14th, 2012 a surprise winter storm crippled central Alabama stranding motorists. For the first time in recent history, students, teachers, and residents were forced to shelter in place because of icy roads. With most of our weather team trapped at home, I led the continuing winter weather coverage that continued into the following day.
In April 2011, 62 tornadoes touched down in the state of Alabama. This event followed an April 15, 2011 tornado outbreak that involved major damage in our area. What complicated the situation on the 27th was a severe weather event that involved two rounds including a surprise severe weather outbreak that impacted the area during the early morning hours. Many viewers were in storm recovery and clean-up mode with no power as violent long track tornadoes materialized in the afternoon.
Each Spring I help organize a community weather awareness event called WeatherFest. My pal Mickey Ferguson and I worked on some weather tunes for a sing along with the Weather Kids...fun times!
